North Wales
I am increasingly drawn to the north of this beautiful country, and the stunning landscape of Snowdonia. The feeling of awe as you drive down the Nantlle Valley towards Snowdon is tremendous, and I could spend hours just gazing and taking it all in.
I also love the little steam railways, mostly run by volunteers, and the impressive viaducts. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct at Llangollen is breathtaking, and at Chirk there is an aqueduct and a viaduct! Caernarfon combines my love of boats with a wonderful castle, and the little villages like Bedgellert are so solid and part of the landscape. As for Portmeirion, my love of colour and detail has plenty of scope here!
I look forward to many more visits, and lots more painting.
